The great triennial religious procession of the Hokien Chinese was held on Wednesday, the 31st October, parading through most of the streets in the Chinese part of the town. It was a very imposing and gorgeous display, far exceeding anything of the kind ever seen here before, some $35,000 to $40,000 having been expended on it.
